1.1. Cómo deben aplicarse los AHA's
* Se emplean en piel seca, acné, manchas seniles, arrugas y en alteraciones de la piel que vayan acompañadas de hiperqueratosis (verrugas planas, queratosis solares/seborréicas, etc.)
* Los alfa hidroxiácidos han sido estudiados en sus efectos clínicos e histológicos y es importante para obtener los mejores resultados con su uso, hacer un buen diagnóstico de la piel en la cual se va a utilizar (tipo, zona, patología, sensibilidad, etc.) y así elegir el pH, la concentración, la presentación más adecuada, la frecuencia y duración del tratamiento más conveniente para cada caso en particular.
* Es muy importante recordar que los alfa hidroxiácidos son un complemento de los diferentes tratamientos a realizar.
Complicaciones
* Cambios pigmentarios, hiper o hipopigmentaciones.
* Cicatrices.
* Eritemas o pruritos prolongados (por uso previo de ácido retinoico).
* Cambios texturales.
Contraindicaciones
Absolutas: Tratamiento con retinoides orales, exposición solar contínua.
RelativaS: Pieles sensibles, Herpes facial recurrente.
Precauciones
Siempre que se utilicen productos con AHA's es conveniente recomendar a los clientes que se apliquen la LOCION BLOQUEADORA SOLAR FPS 50 ya que los alfa hidroxiácidos pueden tener un efecto fotosensibilizante y seguir aplicándola por 2 o 3 semanas posteriores a la finalización del tratamiento.
